ELECTRA GOLD LTD. IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT PATRICK CHARLIE WAS APPOINTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COMPANY ON TUESDAY, MAY 4, 2004.

Patrick Charlie was welcomed onto the Board of Directors of Electra Gold Ltd. at a Board of Directors Meeting held in Vancouver, BC on May 4, 2004. In order to make way for the addition of Mr. Charlie to the Board, Caroline McNeill resigned as a Board member. Mr. Charlie is a longtime elected council member Quatsino Band and is the nominee appointed by the Quatsino First Nation in relation to the land mark agreement signed between Electra Gold and the Quatsino on August 20, 2003 and announced in a news release of the same date.
The appointment of Patrick Charlie to the Board of Directors of Electra Gold Ltd. is a continuation of the development of a growing relationship with Quatsino First Nation and with First Nation People of British Columbia. Management of Electra Gold considers its good relationship with First Nations as paramount to developing new mines. Electra Gold and Quatsino are working together to develop a training and economic opportunities program that will enable Quatsino First Nation to place its people into job positions at its Apple Bay operations. It is anticipated that Quatsino First Nation personnel will play an important role in the stewardship of its traditional territory. Quatsino First Nation has a long history of successful stewardship of its traditional territory and Electra Gold looks forward to both learning from Quatsino and teaching skills in a mutually beneficial and long term, relationship at all levels of the company.
