ELECTRA GOLD GRANTED PERMIT FOR PEM-100 QUARRY

Electra is pleased to announce that Permit AE17545 was issued April 19, 2005 for the operating PEM100 Quarry under the provisions of the Environmental Management Act by the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection, Province of British Columbia to discharge treated run-off water from the production of chalky geyserite.

Electra has been delivering chalky geyserite at a rate of approximately 10,000 tonnes per month to the Ash Grove Cement Plant in Seattle Washington since October 2003.

The maximum authorized continuous rate of treated water discharge is 2600 m3/d and a daily average rate of discharge is 1350 m3/d. The characteristics of the discharge shall not exceed:

Total Suspended Solids
25 mg/L

pH - 6.5 – 8.5

Oil & Grease - 15 mg/L

Toxicity - 100%

Electra is confident that the discharge levels can be continued to be maintained well within the authorized parameters. Electra has installed a continuous data monitor of flow rate, suspended solids, pH and conductivity.

The engineered mitigation system consists of surface collection and drainage systems, crushed limestone, three settling ponds with oil water separators and polishing pond - engineered wetland. Electra has named Bruce Wright, P.Bio of Nova Pacific Environmental as the Environmental Manager for the Project. Mr. Wright has been involved in the Project since 2000 and will have oversight of the monthly water sampling and analysis of monitoring and submission of quarterly reports to the Director, Environmental Management Act, Vancouver Island Region."
