Electra Gold Ltd. has received the second Western Star Tridem drive truck on Friday April 29. The first truck arrived on April 19 (see news release dated April 20). The Company expects to save over $1.00 per ton in over-all trucking costs in the current operation, which includes the trucking of chalky geyserite to the load out facility located at Port Hardy, BC from the PEM 100 Quarry at its Apple Bay Project. The trucking in the past has been accomplished through various contractors, but will now be performed in-house with truck drivers employed by our company.
Electra has been delivering an average of about 10,000 tons of chalky geyserite to Ash Grove Cement Company in Seattle, Washington per month. Electra has delivered, by barge, over 150,000 tons of geyserite and chalky geyserite to its two customers located in Seattle, Washington and Delta, BC since beginning operations in late 2003. A third customer is expected to make an order shortly.
