PRELIMINARY MARKETING STUDY COMPLETED ON LANG DAY "WHITE GOLD" DEPOSIT
Electra is in receipt of a Preliminary Marketing Study on its 100% owned Lang Bay Kaolin Deposit. The main uses for Kaolin in the Pacific Northwest are in the paper, paint, ceramic, fiberglass, refractory and cement markets. The potential market for Lang Bay Kaolin into the nearby Pacific Northwest is a minimum of 225,000 tonnes per year.
The study recommends that Electra pursue joint venture partners in the Kaolin filler and extender markets by (1) contact individual partners in the Kaolin filler and extender markets by (2) further defining user groups and contacting individual users as to required detail specifications.
Electra will be following up with getting specific data from actual users of Kaolin products in the Pacific Northwest. Kaolin is known commonly as “White Gold”, the majority of which comes from the state of Georgia in the United States. Electra is currently in discussion with various finance and potential corporate partners to aggressively advance this project.
Historical data (non 43-101 compliant) indicates a potential resource of 6 million tonnes of product with varying grades and associated values (refer to News Releases dated Sept. 12/06, Dec. 11/06 and March 19/06 for a discussion of reserves).
More information will be released as it becomes available.
