Appoints Randy Buhler as Director of Corporate Communications
Mr. J. T. Shearer, M.Sc., P.Geo. President of Electra Gold Ltd. (ELT.V) announces the appointment of Randy Buhler as the Director of Corporate Communications. Mr. Buhler has over 20 years experience with the public market sector and is responsible for communications with brokerage firms, investors and shareholder interests. His extensive experience in Financial and Public Markets will be of great value increasing Electra’s exposure to retail and institutional investors.

Founded in 1978, Electra Gold Ltd. is a publicly traded mining company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Company is actively engaged in the mining and production of industrial minerals as well as the exploration of coal. The Company has acquired industrial mineral and metal rights to 3 properties; each are located close to rail transportation and/or port facilities:
Electra has developed strong working relationships with major cement manufacturers, including Ash Grove Cement, Lafarge Canada and Lehigh Northwest. Final stage negotiations are being conducted with Lafarge aiming for a long term contract. A stringent 18 month quality control program with Lafarge has recently been successfully completed.
Electra is also working closely with the Quatsino First Nation and other First Nations.
Apple Bay Geyserite Project located south west of Port Hardy, B.C - Mining and producing Chalky Geyserite also known as alumina silica product is an integral ingredient in the production of cement. This deposit has been in production for over 5 years selling to Ash Grove Cement’s Seattle Plant.
Lang Bay Kaolin Project located south east of Powell River, B.C. -
Kaolin has become an important constituent in many industrial applications. It is primarily used to make high quality paper.
Suquash Coal Field northern Vancouver Island -
See News Release dated 2008-08-07 Electra announced a purchase agreement with Hanam Canada to explore and develop the coalfield. Drill permits are expected shortly. Preliminary discussions have been initiated with potential customers such as Ash Grove Cement, Lafarge Canada and Lehigh Northwest.
