ABOUT US

Electra Gold Ltd. is a publicly traded mining company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. In May 2003, Electra (TSX-V: ELT) resumed trading, due to the efforts of Doug Stelling , Chief Ethical Officer.

The company began as a joint venture between the Electra Resources Corporation, founded by Doug Stelling in 1978, and Pacific North West Resources Ltd. (founded in 1980). In 1981, these two companies merged to form Electra North West Resources Ltd., which operated a very successful precious gold and base metals mining company - The Aurora Partnership.

In May 2003, Doug Stelling appointed Jo Shearer M.Sc., P.Geo, as President of Electra Gold Ltd. Shearer is well respected and recognized within the mining community for his work of the past 30 years. He founded his own company, Homegold Resources Ltd., which currently acts as a consultant to Electra Gold. Working in concert, Stelling and Shearer filed the claims that now form the basis for Electra Gold's Apple Bay and Hankin Point properties. Three of the world's largest cement producers have recognized these valuable claims.

New loadout facility

Electra Gold has evolved to become one of few new mining ventures in British Colombia in 2003. The company and its newly appointed president, Jo Shearer, have decided that active engagement in the mining of industrial minerals, such as chalky geyserite, kaolin, geyserite, zeolite and limestone, will be the Electra Gold's major thrust. Mining experts claim that the market potential for industrial minerals is set to outpace base metal mining within the next 5 years (see Industrial Minerals magazine, May 2003).
